Day 47 (Thursday 2/16): Learn something new - geometry

Harrison is staying home today, trying to kick out most of his homework (5 days of independent study) before our trip to Mexico.  All the things the teacher would have instructed in the classroom, we get to do together.  How sad is it that I'm challenged by 3rd grade geometry? Yep, sad.

So, today I've learned:

All about lines of symmetry.  (Circles, infinite, square - 4 lines of symmetry, trapezoid, it depends on whether it's regular or not, blah, blah.)

Rectangle is also a parallelogram (and several other things).

And lots about rays and right angles and other shapes.  Painful.  I feel inadequate!

Day 46 (Wednesday 2/15): Creative - finish painting

So I started this painting at one of last year's 'studio nights' at the house.  It didn't show up great but now I've just got to wonder what I was thinking when I chose that background color. Not fabulous. Regardless, I finished painting the leaves and it's ready to add a hanger and hang.  Maybe hang in the laundry room - seems like a perfect fit.  (Not my favorite painting but the laundry room normally wouldn't get any decor so win/win.)

Day 45 (Tuesday 2/14): Create - butterfly stepping stone #5

The last of this batch of butterfly stepping stones.  Man, flowers are way easier.  I'll post a picture another day of them put back on the path.

With base color

And done....

Day 43 (Sunday 2/12): Declutter - Fox's receipts

What a day.  Carissa, my great-niece, stayed the night and then spent the entire day with us.  She's a year older than Spenser and was great company for him and Harrison.  I didn't have anything in particular to do. The house was clean, laundry was done, no plans, so I settled myself down and worked on Fox's business receipts for about 9 hours.  Really.

I got all of his receipts for 2011 completed and all but about 20 receipts for 2010 done.  What a day.  Good karma for me, right?
